Week One/ Term Two

You know I always find it hard to start these things, I never know what to say. So I thought Id give you a running commentry of my week so far, in chronological order. For some of you reading this, this will be very boring as you were there for most of it but bear with me it is for my family and friends!
Sunday; Arrived around 7.00 very tired and stressed from carrying very large bags from Airport -> metro -> train -> to other platform&taxi -> my room via Mary's front steps.
Spent a little bit just sitting on my bed and breathing, then went over to Tekeyo with 3 lovely helpers (thanks Helen, Kat and Heather&i think maybe Nicola too...cant remember!). It took most of the night to get my room almost done and all that needed doing next day was unpacking the cloths from the last suitcase! At 9.00 we all met in the Bar (just down the stairs for me now...excitment!)Got to bed around 12.00 due to some more faffing around with my room!
Monday; started great! I got up nice and early all perky for breakfast - had 3 pieces of toast and a croissant (sorry Kat and Mum...probably can't spell it!) and sat in there till 9.00 with Nicola while she ate a late breakfast! However by 9.00 i felt awful, went back to my room and promptly threw up (serious flashbacks to last term!). The rest of the day was spent in pain with a hot water bottle strapped to my waist, drinking lots of peppermint tea. I did however manage to go to my lectures!So as you can imagine i was feeling pretty down at this point, all my hard work at feeling better over last term and the holiday seemed to have been pointless. Full credit to Nicola who put up with my tears for maybe an hour (maybe two!) and Naomi who gave me a slice or two of her yummy gluten free (and vertually everything else free) chocolate cake!
So monday wasn't special!

Tuesday; much better as i didnt feel quite as ill, and 3 out of my 4 lectures were cancelled! So Kat Heather and I went swimming for an hour that afternoon instead which was lovely!we had CU in the evening as well which helped to cheer me up!
Wednesday; my day off (sort of!-no lectures anyway!) I got up late but did get to breakfast...no wheat though! at 2.30 Nicola, KaT, Helen, Heather and I went to the DSU to have a drink and discuss our plans for the house next year! it got us all very excited and we felt super organised and very grown up! I then had to go to the doctors at 3.30 to find out about these new tablets to help my tummy! She was really helpful and clear with her explination which helped me to keep calm about the scary new drugs! Me and Nic then spent the evening veging infront of a film while we painted our toe nails and did face masks, with helen too! A nice relaxed day!

Thursday; I actually did work today i was so proud of myself! me and nicola sat in the library and did some work on our essays - i then had a lecture at 1.00 but thought it was at 12 so got there early and went to the library to get some books instead! That evening we then had the Harry Potter formal so we spent a while dressing up(the gowns were our main costume tho!), and nicola curled my hair so i looked more like Hermione...That was my excuse any way! Ill get some of the photos off Kats camera and put them on here so you can all see. I also took the first of my new tablets...which was ok, just makes you very sleepy!
Friday; was quite a wierd day, i did quite alot more work and fixed my printer...only to discover it has run out of ink! i cant afford new cartridges just yet either! The only lecture i had was at 5.15 and then that evening we all went out around the bars of the Hill colleges (Grey, VanMildert, Aidens, Collingwood, Trevs and of course Mary's) which was great fun and we met a few new people!
Sat; Today, it is sarahs Birthday! I met here for lunch at 1.00 but before that Heather, Kat, Nicola, Helen and myself all went on a treck around the Nevilles Cross area of Durham, as it is where we want to live next year we thought we had better go see what it was like and it is very pretty with lots of redbrick terraces! it was very exciting! After that i met sarah and we went for a small meal in Bella Italia then wandered around the market for a while, it was very nice and we bumped in to Marcos too, which was nice as we managed to catch up. Tonight I am going to my friend Lucy from the second years 21st birthday celebation so ill be able to tell you more about that soon and also show you some pics as i am borrowing Nics camera!

So that was my first week! And now i have to go as t is dinner time and i have to get ready for lucys party too...its all go here!
