Van Mildert, pointless practicals & swimming...

I was getting bored of the sight of those photos on this page so I have decided to write a new entry to refresh this page. Except I don't really know what to say....I have finally finished the essay I have been slaving over for the past week and have handed it in. I'm not sure it is as good as the last essay I wrote but this is for a module I don't enjoy or understand that much so, all things considered I was quite pleased. On a more social note Kat, Nicola and myself went to a live gig last night of a band called 'The Guests' in Van Mildert college (just up the road). We decided to go because one of Kat's friends is the drummer and she hadn't seen him for years so wanted to catch up....except she took about 2 hours to pluck up the courage to even go say hello! (To be fair though, I probably wouldn't have been able to either after that much time!) It was a fun night as we spent along time in the Mildert bar just chatting to Kat's boyfriend (Tim - who goes to VanMildert) and his friend Ollie who is also from Mildert and a really great guy. The band only played for a half hour but they were really good and I got a free CD of their songs after.
Today we had a VERY pointless practical trip (for my course) which involved a 2 and 1/2 hour walk up and then around Maiden Castle hill (for those not familiar with Durham...its very steep and very small!...not worth two hours) so that we could see for ourselves what we had been told in the hour lecture previous to the walk - that there actually isn't (and never has been) a castle on Maiden Castle hill despite all local myth to the contrary! Now, before you think me lazy - it wasn't the walk that I objected to or even the early hour but rather the sheer pointlessness of the 3hours and the fact that all this pointlessness had to be conducted in freezing conditions! So, today hasn't been wonderful considering I was up late lastnight/early this morning (3.30am) trying to find a printer in college that worked! I have however been swimming again today with Kat, which has refreshed me and made me feel good about myself because I'm not doing enough excersise recently! Oops!
Can't believe it's Wednesday tomorrow already! Time flys! Write more soon. Love u all!
