Midsummer Fun!

The Exams are over, the digging is half way through and life in Durham is as good as it gets with nothing to do other than enjoy the sunshine and just be with my friends.
Alot has been happening over the last 2 or three weeks; We had music on the river, which consisted of a picnic on the river pank with Pimms and sunshine, whilst the Durham Choral Society serenaded us from boats. The others went to CU houseparty and Kat went to prague. Last night we all went out for a fairwell do for Annika and a pre-birthday bash for some of the others, in Weatherspoons and then we went on to a Salsa nigt in one of the clubs in town. Alot of the rest of the time we have spent lazing in the garden as you may have seen in my last post. But Tuesday night this week was the highlight of the term with the Mary's Midsummer Ball taking place.
The theme of the ball was The Orient Express and dress code was Black Tie. Each reception room in college was turned into a new destination on the "trains journey". We had Venice, Istanbul, Paris among others. The things to do with the night included a Casino, with real Roulette tables and Black Jack dealers, A Jazz Pianist, a chocolate fountain (SO GOOD!), Carnival stall type activities on the SCR lawn as well as Crazy Golf, 2 live Bands and a Ceildh at 2am. There was also a Massuse in a chill out room! And a breakfast of Strawberrys and Champagne at 4.30am after the "Survivors Photo"! (which we made it too!!)
So after a pig out on Pizza (or chicken if you are me!) and wine we all got dolled up and then headed down to join the fun!
Enjoy some of the photos here but to see more take a look at Amie's Blog and she tells the story of the night better than me anyway!
Ciao for now,
