Ok, an odd title for this blog but let me explain.....
Working in the old caffe of Nero, one has to use considerable amounts of chemicals to make sure everything is spick and span and disinfected, however the effect on ones hands and lower arms is quite remarkable, as whilst using said chemicals one forgets that one should be wearing gloves to protect said hands and lower arms...however, me (being me) forget that vital piece of information every day! so consequently (and after much rambling), my point is, is that they (the hands and lower arms) are practically the same texture as Grade-4 sandpaper (oh the joys of D.T. GCSE for knowing such things as the grades in sandpaper)!!!
Understand the first half of the title now? "Yes Ffion!" I hear u cry, "but what about the second half....Streaky?Whats that all about?!" Well as those of u who know me well know (infact scrap the "well".....if uve known me for 2 days or more u'll know this!) I am a fairly vain person. Also as some might know i naturally have fairly brown skin but having not seen the light of real sunshine in around 2 yrs (not counting Thailand as it was just cloudy the whole time being rainy season, so tanning wasnt that successful!) my palour is suffering somewhat! So, to get on with my point (which i am labouring incredibly!) I decided, having seen the ads on T.V and being a sucker for a bargin and any new-fangled gimick, i decided to by some Garnier 'upside-down-spraying' fake-tanning stuff. This i have to add now is the first time in my litte life i have ever fake tanned, mainly cos i havent needed too but this time i succumed. I can hear ur groans even as i write this so i hasten to add that actually it turned out really well and I AM NOT ORANGE!!! Horrah!!
So whats all the "streaky" stuff about then miss george? well it turns out that whilst the fake tan is resistent to conventional soap and water and will (under normal circumstances) last up to two weeks, it does not cope well under the strain of industrial strength 'D10 Cleaner' and the other products used in Nero. My point being that not only are my hands now all dry and sore but also a very interesting hue of brown/white/red in varying streaks and patterns, designed by the corrosive cleaning fluid!
hmmmm!...So, that is my story for the day, hope u all enjoyed it....Untill next time my friends,
Tra......... X
P.s: Celebration bash for my birthday with my Bath mates is happening next friday so expect photos very soon of funness and random people that u durhamites wont know! oh well! they will still be interesting i hope! Oh and Nicloa is coming down to see me and lovely Bath that week too! hurrah!! tra x

Hey ffi! Happy Easter! I had a disaster with the body shop's own brand of fake tan and had to wear a polo neck for a couple of days which also inclued plenty of scrubbing to help with the fading process! As an individual with extremely fair skin which proceeds to a lobster red when exposed to the most miniscule amount of sunlight unless the factor 30 is slapped on by the bucket load, without any intermediate brown stage, I have bought some of that johnsons holiday skin stuff hoping not to have another disaster! I hope your skin recovers well from the barrage of chemicals! I think even if I went to the hottest place on the planet that was possible for human habilitation and lay sunbathing for years using the world's supply of factor 30 I would still be pasty white (with a severe case of skin cancer!) This is why I resort to faking it! I hope you have a restful week next week if that is at all possible if the revision marathon is still on track to be commenced next week! See you soon! Lots of love, easter eggs and fluffy yellow chicks "cheep"! Nic xxx
